I'm feeling *slightly* better. Maybe, hopefully, it's just some kind of 48 hour thing.

What I wanted to tell you, as well, - I had a GREAT time at the Bobby Long concert last Sunday!!! I hadn't seen him in over a year, so it was great to be there again. And the other day, I noticed that my shirt smelled of Bobby. I had no reason to complain. *g*

Bobby said that he likes being in Germany, because he always gets inspired by the country. Like with his song/album "A Winter Tale". He said he wrote the song when he was in Germany, during one of the coldest winters he ever experienced. *g*

Alex Starling was opening for Bobby. I had never heard of Alex before but I liked his music, too. With the first song, I immediately thought that he has a great voice. Which I also told him later. ;) I also bought his cd and asked him, "Do you think it's possible for us to find a pen for you to sign it?" hehe Because then, it was Bobby's time for autographs etc. and Alex was just walking around, talking to some people, but then we went to the table and he signed my cd, too. :)

Some pics of Alex performing:

Bobby had introduced him and then, Alex played for about half an hour. Bobby played for over one and a half hours!! My feet were killing me from standing there for so long, but it was worth it. :D

He played (and I probably forgot some songs):

The Bounty of Mary Jane
A Winter Tale
Sad Woman Blues [he played that for himself as he was sad (though not a woman LOL) because Manchester had lost (football)]
Two years old [I LOVE THIS SO MUCH!]
Dead and done
Who have you been loving
Left to lie
In the frost
Penance Fire Blues [that was the last song I think, before he came back for...]
A hundred years from today [cover]

There were two others I didn't recognize. :P And two new songs. With one, he even feared that he wouldn't get it right without the lyrics. Aw! *g*

Also, one song, he played for tour manager Sven, because he and Alex had been a bit annoying on the drive to Frankfurt. So Sven called them "gaylords"! LOL

He also told a story that he not always did what he was told. Like when his mother said, "Don't touch the stove", he would make his sister touch it! haha

Hello tattoo, I see you! *g*

And finally I had my picture taken with Bobby!!! Third time's the charm, eh? ;) Then he signed a cd for me and asked for my name and was like, "Really?" And then he said that that's his sister's name, too!! Ha! "One of them." haha Then I asked how many he's got, and he said, "Four", with a grin. And I was like, oh poor you! LOL

Great show! Great guy! I love Bobby! <3

Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!! :D Hey there Joni Jo, I see you! (his beautiful guitar was missing for a while there, I know he played his last show in the US on a different guitar, everyone was worried Joni was broken for good lol)

Your photos are FAB! And so awesome that you got a pic with him - I've never had the balls to ask (I'm way shy, lucky to get autographs really lol). Of course, I'm jealous of the new songs ;) He always does that!! Plays the new ones when he's nowhere near me lol

:D :D :D I'm so glad you had a great time!! And I'm so glad you won't laugh at me for my squee!ness over Bobby LOL ;)

haha I was wondering when I saw other pictures, he had another guitar. Well, glad it's not lost. *g*

And no, I would never laugh at you for squeeing over Bobby! I was so giddy myself when I stood next to him and had my pic taken and all. That was the third time I saw him and the first time, he only signed cds, as there were so many people and it would've taken ages for him to please everyone with a pic, so he didn't do that then. Then last year, he was tired from the flight, so he went into hiding right after the gig and I only bought a pre-signed poster. But now, finally, I got it! I was so happy when he said, "I'll be over there signing cds and everything" and I was like, "Yaay!" \o/ And so funny that his sister and I have the same name. I have to remind him of that the next time. *g*

I'm glad myself that the photos turned out well. I stood in second row, so they better, I thought. LOL And actually, I thought of you when he announced the new songs, and I made videos of it. Haven't watched them yet, though, and it was very dark there, so I don't know if they turned out well. The files are pretty big, too, but maybe I'll upload them somewhere sometime, if you're interested?

Every time I've seen Bobby, I've been so freaking shy lol I got an autograph the first time, but no talking besides a "hi" from me lol The second time, I talked to Phil (his manager) for quite a while, and kinda had a 3 minute convo with Bobby while he was signing other people's stuff. It was awkward LOL Third time, he didn't come out after his set, and the fourth was in February, and I left as soon as his set finished, so I missed any meet and greets he may have done. Next time, I'm gonna stand outside the back door and wait for him to come out and smoke LOL

I would absolutely LOVE to see your videos, even if they're dark! ;) New Bobby stuff makes me so happy :D I seriously need more people on my flist that appreciate the awesome that is Bobby Long, there are not enough of us ;)

I was like, I'll just stay there as long as possible, because I also thought or hoped that he'd stick around in the bar for a while. But after he had signed the last cd, he vanished. And then I went home, too.

Alright, I guess, then I'll put it on my to-do list to upload the vids. :)

Oh no, only lately with the con and the two concerts. Usually, I'm very... home-bound too. LOL Though, I would like to go out more and meet new people. I've always been very shy, and I guess I still am, but not so much anymore, I think. :)

Well, just a few minutes ago, the world seemed to be ending outside, but it's better now. I hope, as I wanted to go outside one more time to get Chinese takeout. :P
